“Fluxomics approaches”
Metabolic reaction rates, or fluxes, provide an indirect measure of in vivo enzymatic activities and can be studied through various approaches. Besides the implications for metabolomics, fluxomics can be used in industrial biotechnology, metabolic or protein engineering, nutritional systems biology, toxicology, precision agriculture and crop improvements. Furthermore, the pathophysiological mechanisms of complex as well as rare metabolic disorders can be investigated using fluxomics approaches.

* Ronan M.T. Fleming (VLUMC, NL & University of Galway, Galway, IR)
"Conserved moiety fluxomics"
He will present his work on conserved moiety fluxomics, a novel and efficient method to infer metabolic reaction flux at genome-scale.
* Bart Ghesquière (KU Leuven Center for Cancer Biology, BE)
"Tracing Metabolism"
We present here a series of tools that will aid in the complex interpretation and visualization of the tracer metabolomics data
as well as its application to oxphos disorders and the consequent development of novel treatment strategies.
